I've used Pandora and Spotify exclusively for years. Now, with Amazon Prime, I have "unlimited" access to Amazon Music. How does it compare to the other two in any way you choose to comment on?

Spotify is still leads the game IMO. 320 quality streaming. Plus the social aspect and the ability to slide songs into playlists or folders is unmatched.
They also have curated playlist based on your personal music tastes, i.e. Release Radar and Discover Weekly

Pandora vs Spotify is apples vs oranges. Spotify is music on demand. Pandora is more like a radio experience

Drop Pandora and add Google All Access to the discussion.

Is there away to download music from Spotify and transfer the files to other devices? I always save the song to my phones SD card and add them select playlist. The songs saved to my SD card can they be transferred to my laptop downloaded music folder.

My brother bought a IPOD Nano and wants me to load it up with music for him. Most of my music is from Spotify which I downloaded to my phone. I need to transfer files from my phone to my laptop so I can install them on his music player. He wants the IPOD for when he riding his motorcycle.

If you are already a Prime member, you can get Amazon Music Unlimited for $80/year. By far the cheapest price out of all of them.

Spotify, no question

If you want to use it for more than music, don't sleep on the WORD section under the browse option.

Spotify hands down.

Daily mix playlists are the best part. Never disappoints.

Amazon Prime music will never be as good of quality service as Pandora, Spotify, or even Apple. The first two are solely focused on providing a good streaming music service, and Apple has lots of resources there too. Amazon is a huge company and steaming music is a small piece of it. I don't see them dedicating many resources to competing with Spotify in providing the best steaming experience, when all that they are trying to provide is just another additional thing that you get with Prime, and then just opening up their library a little bit more if you want fork over an extra $8 a month for their premium service. Their app is pretty clunky and they don't have as good of a library as Spotify or Apple Music, even with the premium service.

I don't think you can really fairly include Pandora in this discussion because they are a very different business and more focused on customized radio, which they do better than any of the other services.

The wife and I share 1 Spotify account, and that works out most of the time, but sometimes she'll be using the app when I want to use it. That's when I'll just hop over to Amazon Prime Music and use that app. That seems to be working well for us.

Yup, and iHeart Radio is better at it.

Huh? They don't really offer similar services. Do they? I thought Ihearradio was for accessing FM stations from anywhere. Pandora doesn't do that.

Yes, you can do that, but I do not. I build stations just like I used to do, but unlike Pandora, iHeart Radio does not leave genre. So, if I build a Son Volt channel, I may hear Jayhawks, but I will not hear Britney Spears. Pandora just pissed me off too many times.

Interesting...I never realized that.

I never had your issues with Pandora, but I liked to build stations with lots of my favorite artists added.

I didn't realize you could do that with IHeartRadio either.

I doubt it's as sophisticated as the Music Genome system that Pandora uses.

You also have the thumb up and down option to fine tune. You get so many skips per hour on the free version, but I forget how many.
