this is pretty weird.

Just read that on Alt Press.

Very weird indeed.

Going to begin the process of switching over by taking hormones and shite, just wow.

Without pulling up the article, my mind immediately went to the Against Me! song "The Ocean"...

Against Me! has been a favorite band of mine for years. Trolling or not, it's his (her) choice, and it won't make me think any less of Tom's contributions to music. I just hope Laura's future music is just as awesome.

I spoke to a couple of friends last night that were on the revival tour with him.

All were quite surprised...

I thought of the ocean song as well.

Did you ever hear the 5 b side tracks for that album? They were better than most of the songs that made the final cut.

This is strange as hell. The article mentions his wife being supportive of it

Why in the hell anyone would want to do this is beyond me, but either way I'll always enjoy the music

Sure did, but I can't really say that they were better IMO. Equally as good? definitely. Would they have been able to stand next to any song on that album? Super definitely. There are very few songs (on any of their albums) that I regularly skip whenever I get on an Against Me! kick, and there are none that I dislike. They really are one of my favorite bands, and it has been nice being able to grow alongside their music.

Chuck? Nicholls? Barry? Road crew? ... I was able to see the Revival Tour in its inaugural year when they performed at Fun Fun Fun Fest. Talk about one very special festival to be at. Between having the Revival Tour there, as well as Atmosphere, Bad Brains, Cro Mags (jam), Bouncing Souls, The National, et al, it was one of my favorite concert-going experiences I've had in life.

I just read this in Rolling Stone. I've never been a huge fan of Against Me! but I listened to a little bit of their stuff back in the day. Really weird. It also said that he lives in the same town I do, which I didn't know.

yeah, it's kinda nuts. fans point to the song "the ocean" as a sign of this going down, but I never saw anything like this happening.

I'm a really open minded person, but this quote from his wife is kind of disturbing:

quote:

Heather told Rolling Stone magazine that she can’t wait for the time when “he’s gonna get these cute little boobs.” “I’ve never been attracted to girls, but when he has that cute little boob sticking out of the side of his tank top... hi-ya!” she gushes.

Clearly his wife has issues of her own. I understand being supportive no matter what, but wow.
