I'm Just curious if anyone on here has been to Acl and recommends it? I'm visiting Austin and have 2 free days on my agenda there, so I'll have 2 Days to attend the festival. The lineup looks pretty good but I noticed it's an all age festival, so my concern is, is this more a family festival and not so much a festival for 4 boys in there early 20s? I always hear about coachella, tomorrow world etc. here in Australia but yeah nothing about acl?

It's a good festival...super crowded, but good.

What exactly are you worried about, in regards to families being there? It's in downtown Austin, so you're going to have all waks of life.

If you're worried about "getting after it" wth kids around, I'm sure plenty of people will be there 2x as cocked as you are. Don't worry

Probably more family oriented in terms of kids being there than Bonnaroo or Coachella but it's still a major music festival with plenty of opportunities to bro out with your bros. There will be ample opportunity to act like a jackass. No worries.

As far as big music fests go, it's a good one. You'll have a great time.

I assume he was just referring to the center of town.

No it's still there...I was just comparing this festival which is relatively in a metro area to Bonnaroo, Cochella, Allgood, Wanee, Wakarusa, etc

More of a lollapalooza (sp?) crowd

Sweet thanks everyone I'll lock it in. I just wasn't sure if it was a typical music festival or more just like a family sit down thing.

If you're going to be there anyway, go. There are less high school kids on drugs than lolla, but there are a ton of UT kids.

I've been to Lolla and ACL (several times). They are pretty similar festivals run by the same company.

It is usually hot as balls. It's gotten way too crowded in recent years. Bring a bandanna to cover your mouth. I made fun of those people until I was coughing up dirt for a week. If it doesn't rain, it gets really dusty in that park.

Still, it's a good festival, if a little pricey. I prefer FFF, but ACL usually delivers.
