1) My brother dragged me to see Robert Randolph and the Family Band, I didn't know anything about him. Came away very impressed.

2) I grew up a huge Van Halen fan, and caught the first tour with Sammy Hagar as lead singer at the Centroplex (River Center). Alice in Chains was the opening act.
Totally awful experience- Alice in Chains was literally booed off the stage while going off-script and trying to make it a political rally, and then Van Halen came out and was a mess.
Hagar was off-key and out of rhythm (and making shite up) with his singing, he and Eddie Van Halen kept playing random, one-off riffs that didn't fit in the rest of the music, and honestly, not one song was recognizable to an album track.

Billy Idol - good and bad. He was so f'd up he fell off the back of the stage and disappeared for a few minutes. Concert was decent - Idol being stoned out of his mind made it pretty funny.
