By the way, Star Wars isnt a Sci-Fi trilogy, its a Space themed fantasy trilogy so this should be in the other category.

2001: A Space Odyssey
Dune (Lynch: I know it was a mess, but I still love it)
Dark City

Really there are too many Science Fiction that I love. It's a shame that I left some off this list.

Willow
Lord of the Rings (I'm counting it as one)
Princess Mononoke

Probably a lot more in this category I would like to put in also.

I think you're right, it's just that almost everyone on earth classifies it as sci fi

It's a bit off topic and kind of asinine, but look up Harlan Ellison talking about the difference between Sci fi and science fiction. By his definition, Star Wars is Sci-Fi, but it is not Science Fiction.

I'd go with Blade Runner and The Matrix for sure. Third choice is up in the air... will think on it.

For fantasy, Star Wars trilogy, LOTR trilogy... having trouble with a third there too.
