David Duchovny says the first page of The X-Files revivial script made him cry—and it’s fantastic.

“I got the first script this morning,” the actor told EW during a recent interview. “I just read it about an hour ago and I started crying reading the first page. It was just so strange to see the names on the page. It had nothing to do with the script itself. It was just like, I’d been talking about this for a long time. We’d been planning it for a long time. It took a long time to get all the people in the same place and get the deal with Fox. So let’s say two years we’ve been talking about doing it. Now it’s the fun part. Now we actually get to do it. That was nice and strangely emotional for me, and I’ll have to figure out how to use that [in the performance].”

But what about the script itself? “I can tell you absolutely nothing—and it’s fantastic,” Duchovny said.
So, what do you think? PR bullshite or real?

That Fox only ordered six episodes have led some to assume X-Files will only be a limited-series return, or a miniseries. Yet Duchovny revealed that he’s interested in more.
Yeah, I bet he is. Paychecks are nice.

I have mixed feelings. The movies weren't very good, but I'll still watch this.

It's hard to make a movie about a long running tv show. Not enough time allotted in 1.5 hours, but a 6 episode miniseries gives them more potential for the brilliant creativity the show brought before.

The second movie was a hand job. And not a very good one.

They need to let him find his fricking sister...that was the entire point of the series and why he went to work in the x-files.

Anything less will be a disappointment.

Just one of those guys I'd like to knock out if the opportunity presented itself, not sure why.

First one was okay, but it had promise to answer all of the questions from the show, and it didn't answer shite.

I enjoyed the series plot line to the point where I wanted to skip MOTW episodes but I learned early on even the MOTW episode had some main story line reveals/references.

Look forward to this although the series has little nostalgic effect on me since I watched from start to finish it about 2 years ago after never really watching it as a youth when it aired. I thought the series as a whole still held its own.

The movies were kind of like Stargate movies for me. Some more material to definitely watch but not really great.

I watched religiously in the 90's, until Mulder got replaced. After that, the show got too ridiculous. When Scully left, it was worthless.

I still remember the fake Gillian Anderson boobie pics from the dawning days of the internet. So glad those weren't real.
