It’s honestly a stain on his otherwise stellar resume

I think some of these directors as they get older, Scorsese in particular, forget what it was like to get told no by a studio so they stop questioning themselves and then they get super lazy in the editorial process. So they all drop a 3 hour movie that basically was hardly edited as the end result.

There’s obviously a lot of horror stories about studio interference and bad studio pushed moves throughout hollywood history, but I don’t think 1 persons complete creative control going one way is necessarily always the way to go either. You need someone in the room suggesting changes or challenging ideas or you end up with crap like that scene

Can't remember the name of the movie, but Monica Belucci gets raped. I needed therapy after that

To add to this theme, the opening scene of Justice League where Superman’s upper lip looks like it was built through a Sims 2 editor because Cavill couldn’t shave his mustache bc of Mission impossible

For the sheer scale and commitment to that movie by the studio to end up with that in the final product is truly insane
