Ang Lee Hulk was bad.

Those are not in the MCU though.

The Captain America in the Avengers movies is kind of useless. He's not nearly as fast or strong as most of the other members of the team. The Cap of Ultimates is a true powerhouse, however, and is the only character on the team capable of going toe-to-toe with the Hulk. I wish they had taken the same direction with the movie Captain.

Captain America should be no where near capable of going toe to toe with Hulk.

Cap isn't that strong. And I think they did a good job of conveying how strong Cap really is when he flung Spider-Man in Civil War, after we just saw Spider-Man grab Bucky's metal arm like it was a baby trying to punch him. You also saw Cap along with Bucky and Black Panther run as fast as cars going pretty fast. He isnt' useless, he just isnt' on the scale of Hulk and other aliens with super strength. He's simply much stronger and faster than a peak human.

The only person that should be able to come close to going toe to toe with Hulk is Thor, and I like how it is in the movies where Hulk can sort of beat him up if he really wanted to, but Thor is strong enough to take it for the most part. If Hulk punched anyone else on the team like he did to Hulk in the Avengers, they would be pulverized, including Iron Man in his suit. If Thor can rip his helmet off with relative ease, then Hulk can crush him inside his suit with a single punch.

Part of the reason why I dislike Avengers 1 is how useless Captain America looked throughout the film. They've done a much better job in subsequent films. He doesn't have superpowers like other members of the team, but he's not just some dude like Hawkeye either. They do a good job giving him something to do that maximizes his strengths and hides the fact that he's not as powerful as some of the others.

He's not that strong in the movies. In Ultimates he is. That's my point. I found him to be a much more believable member of the team with that level of power. In the movies, he kind of seems like Batman in the Justice League. Yeah, everybody likes him, but what is he really doing there? What problem can Thor, Iron Man, the Hulk, and that version of Captain America solve that can't be solved just as effectively by Thor, Iron Man, and the Hulk? At least Batman can pick up the tab at dinner.

I don't remember cap going toe to toe with hulk in ultimates. They dropped cap in a tank on him and then he kicked him in the balls while hulk screamed **** a lot.

Also the ultimate universe wasn't anything to do with the movies. Except nods here and there like mechrhino.

I never got that feeling about Cap. If Hawkeye and Scar Jo can hang around then Cap certainly can.

Yeah I liked this too. Actually I think Spidey is supposed to be a little stronger than Cap but I don't mind if they make them about the same.

There should always be a big gap in Hulk and Thor's strength and all the other Avengers. Actually I don't think Thor is strong enough in the movies. It's a little uneven. He's strong, but he just doesn't do near the damage that Hulk does. In some fights he doesn't seem much stronger than Cap, like when he tussled with Iron Man or Loki in the first movie. But then later on he goes toe to toe with Hulk.

Spiderman should be a good bit stronger than cap. I took that show of strength from cap as being smarter and Spiderman being star struck and not really wanting to hurt him at all since he looks up to him.

I do agree about Thor. It's as if they don't want people to think he is that strong. They show him crush iron man's suit with one hand, twice. He takes out a shite load of the chitari with lightning like it was nothing. Hell he falls out of the sky and is fine. All his shows of strength seem so subtle, like getting punched by hulk for fun.
