Just watched Midnight in Paris last night and liked it a lot. What's everyones thoughts on Allen's films? Also, what are his best movies in your opinions?

I'm the folks in Stardust Memories who piss him off by telling him they love his movies...the early ones.
I prefer his screwball comedies like Bananas and Sleeper. Not that I don't like his later era movies, just prefer his comedy.
Also, once the whole molestation thing hit, I stopped watching his stuff. So I haven't seen his latest films. Just lost interest in him. I'm sure one day I'll catch up on his work.

I liked Annie Hall. Bored with Manhattan. I think that's all I've seen from him.

I really liked Match Point

I know I'll be in the minority, but it's my favorite Allen movie.
Blue Jasmine was really good. Midnight in Paris was good, but a bit overrated.
Of his older movies that I've seen, Crimes and Misdemeanors is the best. Still haven't seen Annie Hall, and it's been over a decade since I've seen Manhattan, so that's not an expert opinion.

What was that one where he played a molester?

Martin Landau was great in this.

Manhattan and Annie Hall for rom com.
Take the Money and Run, Bananas, and Love and Death for funny.
Vicki Christi Barcelona best of later year films along with Midnight in Paris.

I never realized that was Woody Allen. Penelope Cruz was so lovely in this.

Husbands and wives is pretty good.
Match point is good too but it's more London real estate porn that he's sexualizing and not Scarlett johanssen.
After his daughter wrote about his abuse of her, i just can't stomach his movies. And that fact that his son is clearly the spitting image of frank Sinatra makes his movie much weirder.

He's got a few good ones, but I find a lot of his films to be absolutely pointless.

I don't want to like his movies since he is creepy. I really like Manhattan, Annie Hall, and Midnight in Paris though.
What do Woody Allen and Kodak have in common?

I've never been a fan and have refused to see his later works.
And I'm just going to say this: Annie Hall is the most overrated film of all time.

What's up Tiger Lily and Love and Death are two of my favorites.

That may come from similar themes among his films.

One of the cable movie channels has been showing some of Allen's early movies. Watched Play it Again Sam and Sleeper the last couple of nights.
For some reason I'd dismissed Play it Again Sam when I was younger. I think that I got caught up in the cheesiness of the Bogart character. Looking at it now, it's a damn funny movie.
Watching Sleeper, it's a little more obvious to me how Allen was inspired in his early slapstick by Jerry Lewis.

I can honesty say that the best Woody Allen movie I've ever loved was Midnight in Paris.
