Announcement of the release date for Wonder Woman 2 scheduled for this weekend at Comic Con. Hopefully they can announce Jenkins officially as the director as well.

Nice. Also so a rumor that the sequel will be set in the 80s with a Cold War setting. I'm not familiar with a lot of WWs stories but are there some good stories/villians from that timeline?

Hopefully- they will take George Perez's 1987 Gods and Mortals run and use that as inspiration. Basically Ares taking over military men from USA and USSR and trying to launch Nuclear Missiles against each other, using his children Deimos and Phobos as his subordinates, as well as Decay... I believe one of the Gorgon Sisters. One of my favorite Wonder Woman comic runs ever. And there is always the Cheetah and Circe to consider.

I'd prefer a straight-up super-villain like Cheetah or Giganta (or both).

But if people gobbled up the anti-war stuff for the first one, a Rocky IV for the second one is a great follow-up.

See this was my only complaint for the first one was the rushed main villain/third act. I wouldve made Ares a recurring character and not even have him fight at the end. Introduce him as the man behind all of the chaos because from what you're saying it would be awesome to see him manipulate something like the Cold War. It would be good to see one of these series take a villain and have them just be behind the scenes casing havoc then ultimately leading to a big fight in the closing film. I'm excited either way.
