She looks very good to me. Interesting casting of Robin Wright and David Thewlis as well.

Wonder Woman

After making it through most of the new 52... is oddly enough probably my favorite dc superhero currently. She is so phenomenal in the comics

ETA: so on topic, this is probably my most anticipated super hero movie coming out in the next few years.

I also see the red head from Van Helsing has been cast. I can see her as Artemis- one of the fiercest Amazons.

Hoping David Thewlis has been cast as Hermes from the Azzarello New 52 run... really liked the character and design, and the London setting is all New 52, so who knows what elements from which era they will be taking.

Wait, those pics...

Is this movie going to be a flashback to the 40s and 30s? It would fit well with the fact that Wonder Woman is immortal or at least has an incredible lifespan stretching millennia.

If Steve Trevor is set back then, then it's obvious he won't be around for the present day incarnation of Wonder Woman and won't be her main love interest. This actually leads me to believe that Superman and Wonder Woman will follow in new 52 and become romantically involved as a possible couple.

The setting has been rumored to be WWI, which is confirmed by the costumes in the pictures. The prevalent rumors being Steve Trevor's grandfather (played by Pine) will be the one to crash on Themyscira and help her fight Ares(who is supposed to start the conflict). The movie is also supposed to bring her into contact with Grandson Trevor(also played by Pine) in the present day in the time period just before the events of Batman Vs Superman.

Looks like they will use the women's suffrage movement as way of tying into the character's feminist message set against the backdrop of the first modern war. Interesting new take on the character and by all accounts this Wonder Woman will be an immortal demigod (daughter of Zeus). Full article with pics at the Daily Mail.

Wait, so Pine will be playing Steve Trevor and his grandfather too in a war nearly a hundred years ago?

I've seen some continuities that are funny but that just makes me go WTF.

The average moviegoer is dumb but not that dumb.

It has to be Great Grandfather. That's only the only plausible generational time period for modern day Trevor to be 35 or so. The rumor mills have said grandfather but nothing official. Pine is signed on to a few more movies(including Justice Leage) so he's got to be modern Trevor as well. It's just like the TV show when they switched to CBS and the seventies and Steve Trevor was the same guy.

Big Apple, a move like that requires an extraordinary suspension of disbelief, even with a movie based in magic and mythical gods.

Wonder Woman getting her now movie was long overdue and she deserves it. It's an interesting character that has never been explored before on the big screen. Tons of potential with her.

The character almost rivals Superman in strength, power and character. But has a conflicted period of development that is similar to Batman when she leaves themyscira.

Well, it's a film about an immortal daughter of gods who grew up in a society without men. She also interacts with an alien and a guy in a bat suit. The fact that she interacts with a man and his look-alike great grandson during her lifetime is the least bit of disbelief that would need suspension.

It depends. Grandpa Steve signs up at 18 in 1914 to defeat the Hun. Bangs a young chick when he's 55 in 1951. His son has a son in 1981 when he's 30.. boom, you've got a 35 year old grandson in 2016.

BTW, my grandfather fought in WW I.

It's actually pretty possible. Say if his grandfather popped out a kid when he was 55 and his father did the same, then it's entirely feasible. I know TheCaterpillar has a great grandfather that fought in the Civil War due to this happening.

This is true after thinking about it...My grandfather fought in WWI as well and it would only take some late in life (50's to 60's) fatherhood to happen.

Just as an interesting aside, this movie will be shot on film as opposed to digital.

A few more set pics have leaked out. This is going to be a different film than I imagined and I'm liking what I'm seeing so far.
