I only liked the first one but caught the ending of Revolutions today and it made me wonder.

I enjoyed all 3 Matrix movies thoroughly. The last one was my favorite. The trope of becoming blind but still being able to see with his inner eye was awesome. Dune did it, as have other fantasy book. The sacrificing himself to save the remaining humans was great Christ allegory.

I thought the "knuckle up" scene in Revo was pretty awesome.

I hope not.
This franchise just didn't stay with people like studios thought it would.
I thoroughly enjoyed the final film and thought it was much better than it will ever get credit for.

They should have stopped after the first one.

They should have waited to make a sequel.

Loved the first one.
The rave scene in the second one... Just turrible. Kilt the whole series for me.

I'm pretty sure it's going to come out as a documentary within the next 100 years or so.

Definitely. I think the turds that were Reloaded and Revolutions still need some time to be flushed by the average viewing audience though.
The Animatrix was well received and I think a prequel movie/trilogy could work since it would be well removed from the original and be similar to iRobot which was incredibly popular.
I'd rather them go with a sequel a generation or two after Neo and feature human/robot relations and the attempt to removed people from the Matrix. You'd have to think there would be a lot of resistance from most of the humans trying to be removed.
This would probably be how the majority of humanity would feel if faced with the stark reality of Earth outside of the Matrix.
You could have some humans trying to lead humanity out of the Matrix and into reality but facing massive resistance from humans wanting to remain in the Matrix and robots saying most of humanity craves subjucation or the illusion of freedom and prefers the Matrix
