You could take over a military ship if you have the mechanical and technical know how to convert it to fuel you can easily replenish. Maybe you could figure out how to use some oil rigs to your advantage. solar panels and batteries, too.

This kind of ties in with my theory on how it all started.
Pentagon develops a weaponized virus to preinfect our own troops with. Somehow it gets loose and into the water supply, spreads like wildfire.

Well..have to take into account what happens to dead meat when submerged in ice.
They would be frozen before reaching you. A natural mass defense. And when they thawed, theyd be so damaged and distorted anyways (if by chance there was still a sign of subliminal life) to move.
