Why does Daman Wayans' son get so much (any) work?

He's in everything these days. He's less funny than Shawn Wayans. His regular speaking voice sounds like the voice every black comedian does to mock white guys. "Sorry, officer I didn't know I couldn't do that." Such a Poindexter.

I actually thought he was his father during the pilot episode of New Girl. Then I thought, "He looks good for his age...wait a damn minute!"

He was great in Happy Endings . Less good in everything since. He was kind of shoehorned back into New Girl. Still likeable though, just needs the right role.

His dad has that nasally-sounding voice, too, fwiw. I think it's genetic.

He was the worst thing in "Lets Be Cops".

He hasn't impressed me on anything else.

Answered your own question. He's a safe black actor. You can have diversity with appeal to white people. What's not to like if you're the studios?

He's got great comedic timing and an easy charisma on screen. He can be manic or reserved and still hit the joke. In short, he gets work because he's good at what he does.

He has the charisma of John Clayton, the voice of John Clayton and the lifeless eyes of a doll.
