Always wondered what happened to Green. He seemed to burn white hot for a while and then suddenly fell off the face of the earth.

Tom Green had been doing his show in Canada for a few before he came to MTV. The Jackass guys had been making skating videos and doing the cky home videos before MTV. They've both been around for a while.

The first CKY video was 1999
All Tom's stuff was 1998 and earlier. Some of the clips go back to 1994.
I'm saying this as a huge CKY/Jackass and Tom Green fan. Just a very interesting clip.

The wake up the parents gag in the middle of the night has been a staple of radio shows everywhere for god knows how long. The rest of the other stuff is crazy though.

Looks like Tom Green was first, but I still feel like Jackass is more entertaining or did it better (even if it's the same stuff ha). Just a personal preference.

Jackass was doing CKY videos (and their band) for a while before they were Jackass on MTV.
Tom Green is probably the reason they got a TV show though.
Anyone remember Bumfights? Rufus the Stunt Bum! Didn't the Bumfights guy go to jail?

Tom Green sucking on a cow's teat was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Jackass definitely ripped off his act, but they are an ensemble cast who had already connected to the skater crowd, so they have more appeal. But Tom Green was pretty damn big in his day.
