I just think its a really bad idea to recast him when its not essential. I just wouldn't bring back Han or Leia at all and just have Mark Hamill there. It would be really jarring to have someone else play Luke when age isn't really a factor to this.

I guess it depends on when its set. If its 20 years out, then its an issue. if its 40 years out, then no issue.

We will just have to wait and see.

It simply cannot get worse than TPM and kid Anakin saying "yippee" while getting on that pod he built.

That's nothing compared to the fact that he single handedly took out the droid control ship with a lucky topedo shot.

I wanted to puke at that ending. The best part of that movie was the Darth Maul fight.

Another big mistake was killing him off. Could have used him for 3 good films.

Well harrison is the only one who still regularly acts.
dude, have you even looked at Mark Hammill's resume? he has done over 40 things since 2010 alone. Most are voices, but i have read actors say doing voices is easily harder that acting on screen.

I don't put to much into voices. I've heard Chris Rock describe his Madagascar experience.

Paraphrasing of course.

Chris Rock in the studio

Studio guy: Say "what".

CR: What!?

Studio guy: Say "wow"

CR: WOW!

CR: And they paid me a million dollars.

I realize the parallel, but Luke used to bullseye wamp rats in his speeder and they aren't much bigger than 2 meters.

Luke also got a mission briefing telling him where the hell to shoot.

Anikin jumped in a docked fighter, pushed some buttons and defeated an entire army.

Way different.

Disney's greed? Seriously?

Star Wars has been terrible for decades. Disney is irrelevant.

Hamil is 61, there is no way he could play a 40 year old skywalker. He is an old 61 too.

carrie fisher looks more like jabba than leia now. Again, no way she is involved.

And frick harrison ford is really really really old, plus he would cost a fortune.

I concur...

Cool story for the next one would be this: the force has been balanced...there is no longer a need for "force users" like jedi or sith to practice such things anymore...luke has been retired from being a jedi for 30 years...he has become a "Air Force" general focusing on his piloting skills...

When out of the blue a disturbance in the force is felt...yoda appears in force ghost to call Luke back into action...he must pass on what he had learned...

a new enemy has emerged

There are too many stories in the Star Wars universe to not do more movies. There are entire realms of opportunity. They can do the Ancient sith/ jedi wars or the Invasion of some alien( i forget which) after ep V.

Chris Rock is not a professional voice actor. He's just expected to act like himself, and that's it. Hamill though will go down as one of the all time greats. He's a true professional at it and gives it his all. Chris Rock doesn't give a shite about voice work and half asses it. Chris Rock is a great comedian, but that's where his actual talent ends. Can't think of any good performance he's ever put to film.

Did Lucas write these stories? I think not, therefore they aren't relevant. He ended it at 6.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that Lucasfilm actually had the stories written for another trilogy that they had not decided to act on yet prior to the purchase by Disney.

Someone feel free to prove/disprove, I might be wrong.
