I hope Daenerys doesn't win the throne. She simply doesn't deserve it. In as brutal of a place as Westoros, you don't get lucky enough to have the opportunity to learn how to be a leader. You're either born one or you're not. She's made plenty of mistakes that she's been bailed out of unlike Robb who had to suffer immensely for one little mistake he made.

In the very end, no one will sit on the throne. All for naught.

I want Stannis to win it all. He's the fricking man.

wholeheartedly agree. She's the "Chosen One" archetype and for her to win would be a repeat of every other fantasy.

Littlefinger, Jon Snow, or Margaery for the throne.

I agree with the archetype argument and she's gone from naive child to having the broadest impact in the "game" which fits that bill.

I'll exclude Jon Snow, but easily she deserves it over the likes of Littlefinger or Margaery. I doubt seriously that she wins, it would fit too well into the box. The same box GRRM has had no issue not conforming to. The main reason general populace and nerds alike enjoy GoT is the protagonists can and will die.

But deserving? Freeing tens of thousands of slaves, attempting to weigh choices - even if you frick up - isn't deserving? I couldn't disagree more.

Stannis has the bloodline now - maybe. Daenerys certainly had the bloodline before. IMO the mess that is - becomes even a larger mess and at the end a Stark - no bloodline - sits on the throne, but he/she didn't win the game, it's because that person is chosen amongst peers and there are only a handful of households left to rebuild from the aftermath.

ETA: That's my happy ending.

Dany, Tyrion, and Varys easily those three joining forces is unstoppable.

Dany's people for the most part see her as a savior. The Sons of the Harpy will probably be wiped out by her dragons.

With three dragons, a strong army, with Tyrion and Varys advising her Dany could easily win the throne.

Littlefinger. He plays the game the best and plays to win.

Don't think he makes it remember he betrayed Ned, that's not going to sit well with the remaining Starks, Arya, Stannis, possibly Sansa, and maybe Jon could kill LF.

I think politically Danny has been a bit of a joke. I also think they're somewhat hinting that she can't really control the dragons. Sure they won't harm her, but it's not like she can sick them on an enemy and have them destroy em all. The dragons are just as likely to start eating her army (atleast this is what I think they're hinting at).

I actually come to dislike her character more and more each day (especially now that she's never nekked too).

The regional governors have direct control of their territories. Fear of this battle station will keep the local systems in line.

Because she has chosen to use her power to help others? Of course there is a political fallout. What leader in human history has tried to eliminate slavery without backlash?

Easily she is the most progressive of the contenders.

I could imagine Littlefinger quoting about himself if he won the throne, "A thief sits on this throne waiting to be backstabbed."

I would love to see a Stark sitting on the Iron Throne at the end, but I don't think that the Starks even want it. The most they want is to regain the north (even Rob just wanted the North). I could see Rickon, Sansa, or a legitimized Jon Stark becoming King of the North (or Queen of the North in Sansa's case), but I don't see them ever wanting the Iron Throne.

The way that every house in Westeros is plotting and fighting each other, and not preparing for winter, I could see the others and Winter being the front runner to wipe out everyone so no one gets the Iron Throne.

If Dany can grow up and learn from her advisors and mistakes, I like her chances. As much as we hate how boring she is across the sea, she's not ready for the Iron Throne. If she can survive her teenage years and get her dragons under control, she's a real contender.

And that is where Tyrion comes into play (if Varys' plan comes to fruition).

Dany has the most resources and weapons at this point in the game. Sure, she's still a novice at ruling and is making some bad decisions, but she isn't sailing to Westeros anytime soon. She has a bit of time to do some on the job training, get her dragons under control, and learn to listen to Tyrion and Varys before she has to make her move for the Iron Throne.

At this moment the white walkers are the front runner. Everybody is to busy dicking around and fighting each other and not preparing for Winter.

In the future the front runner is whoever Bran aligns with if he can warg drogon.
