I honestly wouldn't bother with Sons of Anarchy because it really goes off the rails and you've wasted an investment. There is so much better stuff that works the long-haul.
I don't mind prime-time soap opera stuff but this series delves into daytime soap territory easily...by season 3. It's so ridiculous.
