which HBO series should i start?

just got HBO go. the gf and i are looking to start a new series.
we have not seen

deadwood
six feet under
Game of Thrones
john adams
Luck
Mildred Pierce
Oz
Rome
Treme
what should we watch?
whatever yall pick we will add Game of Thrones too, so we can have a show to watch weekly when the season starts

Rome and Deadwood are pretty short series so you can burn through them quick.

Oz is good, but if you want to start with the best, then you need to go with the opinions in this thread. Mainly The Wire and The Sopranos.
Game of Thrones is awesome but only one season in.
I've heard good thing about John Adams, Deadwood, and Six Feet Under, but i would definitely start with the first two i mentioned.
