This, plus I like the subtle, humanistic voice over the generic cartoon voice that sounds like someone threw a voicebox, a robot, and a human into a vocal blender and that's what came out.
"You are all my children. And you're lost, because you follow blind leaders," sounds a lot more intimidating than the monotonous drone of, "I'm as far beyond mutants as they are beyond you."
On a side note, I really fricking hope Raven/Mystique gets killed in this. I'm sick of Jennifer Lawrence popping up in everything and definitely don't like this road they're going down setting her up to be the main character the story revolves around. Every time I hear her in the trailer it sounds like Katniss got thrown into an X-Men movie.

Ifhe has a similar voice to the 90's cartoon, that will go a long ways for me.
I don't think he does which is really going to ruin the character. There's a trailer where you can here him yell and it's really just Oscar Isaac's voice...and he has a kind of higher pitched, soft voice....not good.
That cartoon made Apocalypse so damn intimidating and intense, with the mechanical deep voice he had along with the sound effects when he moved. It was incredibly effective. You knew every time he was on the screen bad shite was about to happen and nobody could stop him.
I know most casual movie goers aren't going to be familiar with his character...which is sad. i don't think they'll grasp just how much of a total badass and legend he is. Even the trailer shows that his normal size is not what it was on the show, around 7 ft. He looks 5'11 in the movie...not good.
