So many...

The Fountain
O Brother, Where Art Thou?
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
Forrest Gump
Last of the Mohicans
The Other Boleyn Girl
Dazed and Confused
Garden State
High Fidelity
Donnie Darko
Lord of the Rings
Boogie Nights
Empire Strikes Back
Fantasia
Sunshine
Requiem for a Dream
Juice
Lost in Translation
SLC Punk!
American Graffiti
the Graduate
Goodfellas
This is Spinaltap

But my favorite? Man, as far as original scores, it's gotta be a tie between the Assassination of Jesse James and the Fountain. As far as compilations, I think Forrest Gump and Dazed and Confused top that list. I might put Dazed and Confused ahead of Forrest Gump.

I love this thread.

My favorite classical soundtracks are Jurassic Park and Rudy. Jurassic Park is my favorite of all of John Williams' work, even Star Wars. Nobody can not feel inspired listening to Rudy, the driving theme during the football game is fantastic.

Two of my favorite Pop soundtracks are Empire Records and American Pie. Not because they're anything special, but I'm a sucker for 90's alt rock, and both of them have a ton of quintessential 90's alt rock.

Best use of music in a movie? Pulp Fiction. So many scenes you can recall just by hearing the music. Butch deciding what blunt object hes gonna use to kill Zed? "Baa dada dada baa dada dada bomp."

Mine is a combination of soundtracks and scores/composers:

Space Jam
Star Wars
Harry Potter
Jurassic Park
LotR (not a fan of the movies, but love the soundtrack)
Forrest Gump
Almost Famous
Chicago
Last of the Mohicans
And the early 90s Disney films have great soundtracks

And I know it's a TV show, but the Game of Thrones soundtrack/scores for each season are movie quality IMO.

Score.

Yes it is. That might be another list - favorite score.
Shawshank doesn't really have a soundtrack either, but I love its score too....

Ironically both scores were done by Thomas Newman.
