What's up with Mark Brendanawicz from Parks and Rec?

Why did they trash him after season 2? Feel like they could have done more with him...
By the way doing a rewatch and Tommy is WAY better in the first two seasons than later.

They replaced him with Ben. They both play the straight guy, but I thought Adam Scott was much funnier in his role.
I never really disliked Mark, but he didn't do anything for me either.

He was a little too straight of a straight guy.
He didn't vibe super well with the zaniness of the show.
Adam Scott was a better choice.

They made him way too boring. He should have been in the playboy/alcoholic role

Yep. Adam Scott worked because he was very straight laced, but was still very quirky. Mark was just boring.

Given the identity that Pawnee would take on later in the series, Mark never seemed like a guy that was from this place.

The actor left to pursue other things/because he stopped enjoying the character. The actor (Paul Schneider) is a pretty weird dude too fwiw. Also, Ben Wyatt was a way better character and better fit for the direction the show was starting to move.

Yeah I didn't think he fit well with how the rest of the show played out

No disrespect to the actor but I hated every second he was on screen. Everyone else seemed so much more interesting.
