I'd say there's a bit over acting on some characters parts but overall a pretty decent movie if you're into that sort of thing. Better than the history mini series.

Considering this was originally going to be a Ron Howard film, I think we were robbed of a great film.

I thought it was pretty decent. I'm not a Alamo history buff so I don't know if it was accurate or not.

It's kind of just there. I don't hate it, but it's missing a personality.

I believe it was suppose to be the most accurate Alamo film to date.

One of my favorite westerns of all time had D Quaid in it. THE LONG RIDERS. It is the story of James Younger Gang with real life brothers playing historicol charectors.

Didn't like it and didn't like how they killed Davy Crockett at the end.

Didn't he die at the Alamo?

I've never seen the film so not sure how he is depicted,

I don't think he's saying that he didn't like that he died, just how he died.

it was, and as much as was known it was told as such.

this film used a lot of historical accounts form the Mexican story

The story is too big for a movie, more background on Travis Bowie and Crocket would be three hours by itself,, the battle at the Alamo another two and the runaway scrape and San Jacinto another hour minimum that's 6 hours

IMHO it was pretty boring aside from Billy Bob as Davy Crockett. Quaid was horrifically bad as Sam Houston.

The traditional account claims Crockett died in the battle. However Mexicans and revisionist historians claim he surrendered and was then executed, based on the memoirs of one Mexican officer. The film presented this latter, disputed version of Crockett's death.
