I'm working through it on netflix and I really like it.

i'm at the part where it splits to SG Atlantis...but I don't like Atlantis as much and I may just wait until later to watch it.

It really bugs me that other advanced Human civilizations don't even try to use the Stargate...even though most have DHDs.

SG-1 was a good series, around season 4 it gets better and stays strong until around season 8 when Teal'c grows hair.

It is one of the cases were a show started to run out of ideas and was getting long in the wind.

Teryl Rothery was killed off about the time the show went downhill, as they were all being told there was likely not to be a season 8.

watched about 3 seasons on netflix and have taken a break. Will pick it up again shortly after I get out of this odd anime phase that I'm in. That said, I've really enjoyed it (I never watched it when it first aired). It took me a while to get used to seeing McGyver as a different character, but now that I've got used to it, it's all good.

Great show, but not nearly as good as Stargate Universe.

the biggest adjustment to me was from James Spader to Michael Shanks as Daniel

but after about a season you don't even think about it anymore.

It had been so long since I saw the movie that I had to look up who played Daniel originally because in the first season I thought they looked extremely familiar.

Great show. Probably in my top 10 all time shows. Definitely in my top 3 sci-fi.

I really enjoyed it, especially being able to marathon it on NetFlix.

SPOILERS

What was the deal with Daniel Jackson leaving then coming back. Was that always the plan or was that a business decision that effected the story line?

I don't know, but if it was just a business decision they played it pretty well. I think it was planned all along.

I started season 1 and encountered an episode so bad that I haven't been back to the series in about a year. There were other, more interesting shows on Netflix. Now that I've pretty much picked Instant Watch Sci-Fi's bones dry, I'll have to go back. The problem is that I'd rather not waste my time watching crappy standalone episodes - I've done that far too often. Hopefully geos.tv will help me to avoid those.

I can't tell you what's a stand alone and what's not, but I was pretty surprised at how well they kept the main story arc involved most of the time considering how long it was on the air.

To clarify, I don't find "planet of the week" installments to be inherently useless. I just don't like to sit through the ones with dull premises or stupid characterizations.

I loved this show.
My favorite episode was Window of Opportunity (I think that is the name)

This is the one that was like Groundhog Day--very funny!
