What movies did you enjoy watching with your grandparents?

Eddie Murphy movies. My Grandad and I would sit up on Friday nights and watch Eddie Murphy movies. He was 80 and he died laughing at every one of them. It was our Friday night thing when I was a teenager and fresh out of high school as Grandmama would go to bed before we started watching movies.

I've never seen my grandfather laugh harder than when I watched Christmas Vacation with him for the first time.

Westerns, especially John Wayne Westerns. My grandad loved them. He also really enjoyed Walker Texas Ranger.

Not a movie, but my grandmother would watch WKRP with me and crack up.

I'll never forget watching "An Officer and a Gentleman" with my grandparents because I thought it sucked so bad. But I was also like 5 or 6. I was obsessed with Chuck Norris flicks when I was a kid so we always watched those.

Your Friday night routine as a teenager was to watch old movies with your grandpa?

I watched European Vacation with my sweet, sheltered catholic Grandmother. She laughed and laughed. It was a memorable experience. Thanks for making me remember!

Maybe the guy is just a family man. I guess you'd prefer him going out and getting bent like elbows on alcohol or the devil's lettuce.

My grandmother loved The Goonies so damn much.

My grandmother loved old Hitchcock movies and Cary Grant movies.

Because there's something wrong with spending time with family. The frick is wrong with you.

My dad's father was dead by the time I was 5, my dad's mom when I was 8, and my mother's parents didn't like watching movies at all.

My paternal grandparents would watch movies with my sisters and me when we were younger, but it was just kids' movies from what I remember and an excuse to spend time with us. I'm not sure that they particularly cared for movies or tv. They would just keep the TV on Fox News or local news for themselves as far as I could tell.

My grandparents loved Wheel of Fortune though, to where we'd watch that with them growing up. My mom used to have a rotating stool, and when I was like 3 I'd bring that into the den and spin it repeatably.

My paternal grandfather (who lived near me) died when I was 12. Prior to that, he probably watched Two Mules for Sister Sarah about 100 times. Looking back on it, that was not a kid friendly movie

This, plus Eddie Murphy standup and movies.
And the A Team.

I don't think I ever saw my grandparents laugh so hard as when I watched O Brother Where Art Thou with them. Good memories.
