It's not a real one, but it's a modified version of a LeMat revolver. 8-9 shot with a 20 gauge shotgun barrel center fire (underneath)..

Lemat 1861. 9 rounds of .38 short with 1 20ga shell (when you see him flipping down the lever on the hammer during the shootout with the Messicans, he's switching to the 20ga).

I would kill to handle one in person.

Appears to be a Lemat or Schofield to me. Not your typical run of the mill peacemaker.

I initially thought it was a Schofield ...does he break it open like one? I haven't seen this weeks episode yet. But it does looks like Lemat too....it's defiantly not a peacemaker...anybody that says so is just saying that and doesn't know anything about clsssic firearms.

He does break it open. Which is why it makes me think Schofield. But it has the shotgun underbarrel similar to the Lemat like someone else said

It's supposed to be a Lemat, but it is either modified or a modern reproduction as it fires cartridges, whereas the original Lemats were ball and cap.

The Schofield is similar in appearance, but the smoothbore 18 gauge (probably 20 gauge in the repro) is a feature relatively unique to the Lemat.

After just watching a couple videos about LeMats, it doesn't appear to be an ideal weapon.

I was thinking the same thing. Shotgun in the middle and eight rounds on the wheel.
