I think both of these capture the essence of the 80s pretty damn well

License to Drive is my favorite 80s movie and I was able to tell Heather Graham that in person one time in Nola.

And if want a more adult 80's vibe, watch Fatal Attraction and Wall Street.

Great calls! I'd add Less Than Zero for that seedy underground 80's vibe.

I'd probably go with Karate Kid followed by Predator.

Die Hard is one of the all time great films, but to me it's more 90s culturally.

It's as though they knew they needed to include every 80's stereotype in this movie.

Got it.

Tough one - my candidates are:

Top Gun

Breakfast Club

Ferris Bueller

Ghostbusters

Fast Times at Ridgemont High

Obviously this is skewed by the fact I was in high school in the 80s, but there it is.

Because I was an adult in the 80's Wall Street is my choice. Daryl Hannah's wardrobe and choices for interior design were perfect representations of the 80's. All of the kitchen gadgets, the microwaving of the Haagen-Dazs, Gordon Gekko's robot were instruments of the 80's.

The offices with the little computer monitors that weighed 40 pounds. If you had a computer at your desk, it looked like that. And that guy's big plastic framed glasses. That was the 80's.
