Yep. For instance, blacks are no longer segregated within the military, as they were during the BoB days.

That scene is used in the German Army NCO course as examples of good and bad leadership.

Too many to list.

Too many.

One not mentioned that stands out ... is when Lipton let's the German Colonel (?) keep his sidearm ... and then that German Commander addressing his men as the Men of Easy Company listened via translation.

the fact that between 5-6 million ethnic minorities were massacred during a 3 year span is just mind numbing.

I would have lost my sanity had I been one of the soldiers to stumble upon a concentration camp.

The fact that man can do that really does show that we aren't that far off from animals.

ETA: One day I promised my self I would go to Auschwitz and pay respects to the people that lost their lives.

There are so many. I watched the series again when it aired on last week.

I was moved by the speech that the German general gave to his troops.

The concentration camp scene had me in tears, especially when one of the prisoners comes out of his hut and salutes Malarkey and Malarkey salutes back. And when one prisoner just comes up to an American soldier and hugs him. If I live to be a thousand I will never understand how human beings did those things to other human beings.

I just can't fathom it. I can't even imagine what 5-6 million people dead would look like...the number killed might as well be infinity...

I agree that the German officers' speech was way up there. You could see how the Easy guys related it to their own experience and camaraderie.

I just finished re-watching the DVD's yesterday. And the final disk with all of the interviews is just so awesome. It's such a treasure that they were able to capture these guys' memories like that before it was too late.

Yeah... The interviews were unreal.

Also... I thought that the casting for the show was phenomenal after seeing the actual soldiers.

God Bless them all.

after watching this and the pacific it reminds me of when I was a senior in high school and I was set up to go to the Naval Academy...I used to love playing out fake battles of WWII with my toy soldiers...

I screwed my back up really bad doing powerlifting my senior year, and couldn't pass a physical to save my life...

I feel like I kind of let my family down...they all served in the Navy during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam...

So, did Speiers massacre those prisoners, or not?*
