Another hint was the elevator scene when he said he related/understood the hosts more than humans. At first I took it as someone lost in their work but he was relating to his own

Fantastic episode.

can't wait to hear the people who prioritize the newest episode of the 'Big Bang Theory' complain about the plot still going nowhere.

Not in 100 would I have guessed about Bernard....

Is this really a common thought after this episode? This has been speculated since literally episode one.

To be fair a lot of things have been speculated.

Yep people have been skeptical of Bernard since the first conversation he had with Ford. It was pretty easy to tell with how Ford could easily change the conversation with Bernard and Bernard would drop it and walk away like nothing happened.

So did Bernard actually used to be an employee who ultimately suffered the same fate as Teresa? Surely this isn't the first person Ford/Arnold has done this to.

ETA: And WTF happened to Elsie?

Really knew that was the path they were going when they gave us his dream to start the episode.

I was pretty convinced all along that Bernard was a host. What I don't know is how many other staff are hosts. I'm beginning to think, now, that all the joking was to throw us off what I thought were obvious tells that Bernard was a host. Just in "The Stray" alone, both Elsie and Thor's brother joked about themselves being hosts.

Now - look at this episode. The demonstration has a "host" programmed to read "as human" - dressing and acting like staff interacting with Clem. So, they send Thor's brother in there to shoot her. They were reluctant to risk a human when they were unsure, but they send a real person in after they KNOW she's homicidal?

Right. There's a deeper level to this game, alright. The "who in the hell is actually a real human being here?" level. Ms. Bernard? Maybe she's human. No real reason to simulate killing a host - just reprogram her.

Hell, I'm not even sure about MiB, Logan or William at this point, or even Ford himself.

I don't know if Westworld is gonna go this route but what if Ford can transfer the mind of real people into the host and can control them like the host. What if Ford can legit kill people and recreate them so he can control them. Honestly what if Ford is creating a world that can't tell him no. When will he transfer himself into a host? Ford might go down as one of the most evil characters to be on TV.

I'm all but certain William is the MIB after tonight. Question now is why we need to know his backstory and what greater role will he play either in stopping ford or helping to perpetuate what's happening

Great episode. I was still on edge even though I knew Bernard being a host was a possibility.

William is the MiB's future son in law.

Bernard being a host has always been speculated. Still not sure he isn't feeling some real consciousness, too, though.

it seems that to create consciousness, it takes host to host contact

which may explain the chats b/w Bernard and Dolores

BUT, i don't think ford wants them to have that, so maybe Arnold got involved. that seems like a stretch

If a host looks and acts and thinks they are a person, and they have their backstory, what's the difference? Besides Ford controls them.
