Most people are like that I guess, but I have a list of about 20 movies that I could watch on an endless loop

Now go watch the Patriot staring Steven Seagal. You can thank we later.

People on this board take popcorn flicks way too seriously.

No kidding. Not every movie needs to be Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring.

(Look how cultured I am.)

Sorry. While it's not Shakespeare, it makes no claim of being historically accurate and is a nice little distraction that's full of the "rah rah" patriotic schlock I like to see every now and again.

100% the case with some people. It fricking annoys me, but I don't think that's the case here. Other than the production values (which are amazing) the movie itself is pretty terrible I own it, I watch it every so often...it's not snobbery.

I think we're the same age, when is the last time you watch it? It didn't age very well from my teens to adulthood

I've always wanted to time how much of the movie is in slow motion...it's hysterical at times.

It's probably been over 10 years. I get my action fix with other movies.

Ok that's what I thought it's terrible, and not even in a complex way. There are a lot of movies that I just can't zero in what I like and dislike. There are some that need another viewing or time to digest it

You can just go through this one and identify everything you hate about it. Which is one of the numerous flaws...it is 100% without subtlety (look at the title for Christ's sake )

Pretty amazing because look at the cast, you'd think it would be really good

Pretty sure Mel Gibson was born in New York, but I get what you mean.

I can't fathom how you can hate a movie where the bad guy British a-hole literally dies at the hand of Mel Gibson, a bayonette, and an American Flag (frick you, horse's chest).

Also, Mel Gibson is definitely American.

Make the audience hate the bad guy no matter what - going back to the whole subtlety thing. It's not a good movie, and yet I still enjoy it. The movie looks great though. I won't deny that.
