Tangerine Dream did a fantastic job for the soundtrack of this movie.

I wish more people would see this movie. Everyone knows the Old Time Rock and roll scene, but there is so much more to this movie than a scene that is imitated at Halloween by people who have likely never seen it. I was reluctant to see it growing up, and after I finally watched it it became one of my favorites.

They're almost in that notch between Vangelis and Elfman - this remains fantastic work.
The film is superficially childish and prurient, but has a deeper level for anyone who cares to look. The performances were pretty good for that sort of film (De Mornay probably the weakest of the principal cast) - and I can find things to like about it over 30 years later. I mean, that was my high school cohort - I was a sophomore when that film came out.

I've seen this movie 100 times and I've never understood why that bitch throws the egg after he buys it.

You said it...she's a bitch.

It set the template on ambient scores. There's been a bunch I've loved since but none better.

This x100. Very good watch. Even the filler audio is just perfect.

I caught part of it on commercial TV a few weeks ago and it remains as one of my favorite movies.

As a kid growing up in the 80s, it was a right of passage to watch this movie. I was enamored with Rebecca De Mornay's 80s bush.

So for my 12th birthday, I took a few friends to go see Beastmaster. As many of you know, it features a scene with a topless Tanya Roberts...
I was a hero at school for weeks after that.
Year later a buddy of mine took us all for his 13th birthday. Movie of choice...Risky Business.
He won.

Yeah...the music is amazing. But what I love even more is the look. You can freeze frame TONS of shots in the movie and they look like museum quality photos. The movie is beautiful...just gorgeous.
And as someone said, it's ONLY a teen sex comedy is that's all you want it to be, but it's really so much better than that and so much different than it's counterparts at the time like Porky's.
