This series is incredible, fantastic prequels to the originals.

Love the series going back to the originals. I just wish they jumped ahead in time many years. Maybe have an elderly Caesar before the Icarus returns.

I know I'll be in the minority on this one, but the trailer didn't really interest me. Saw it last night before Logan.

I enjoy the movies, but, hurry up and get to the astronauts already.

I enjoy these prequels but I agree it's time to move on down the timeline. Ceaser is great though. A true OG, or OA (original ape). Not sure I can believe Woody Harrelson as the evil human leader but ok why not.

Trailer portrayed him as evil. That's all we have to go off of.

The original film timeline was cyclical, so the sequels were also prequels.

This series didn't require time-traveling apes to launch the revolution, so there's not really a chance of it becoming cyclical.

So we're strictly in sequel territory in this series.

the original planet of the apes movies are so screw up timeline wise. It's the chicken and the egg with those movies.
They go to the future and apes rule, with ceaser as their founder, even though he hadnt' even been born yet.

The trailer portrayed him as intense/anti-ape.

This trailer is different than the one I saw last night. The one I saw last night the first time you see Woody he emerges from the darkness shaving his head and looking menacing. He looked evil. No question about it. ETA: I have no idea if he is evil, but that's what the trailer portrayed. That and the executing a monkey scene.

I can't watch these anymore because they suck, but are we supposed to be pulling for the humans or the apes? I thought the humans wiped themselves out in a nuclear holocaust from the original movie. Now it turns out we lost a battle to a bunch of monkeys?

You mean a monkey that was part of a war where the loser has to die?

Are those the rules? Then I guess so.

What are you arguing about, exactly? That Woody wasn't portrayed as evil?

The gorilla working with the humans is a nice twist. I don't think we've seen that in a POTA film.
