I would think that motorcycle leathers would do the trick, but these walkers seem to be able to bite through flesh like it's marshmallow topping.

The kingdom episode showed the mostly proper protection in this scenario.
Then had them break out handguns.
Leathers, light flexible plastics are all you really need.
Chainmail is asking for breaking your bones and exhausting yourself. Plate is asking to dehydrate and die in a tin can if they don't pull your slower than a walkers gait apart first.

If all fails, long sleeve coats with arms wrapped in window screen. Has to be a lot of that left over.

The real threat isn't the walkers, its other people. As the show has demonstrated time and time again.
