Walking Dead solution?
Posted by _Hurricane_ on 11/29/16 at 9:44 am22
When they finally get free and are moving on their own again(they will), why don't they head for the water and steal a boat? Stay in the water and head north hitting up towns on the coast for supplies until they hit Nova Scotia or somewhere super cold and unpopulated where there are few walkers and those that are left would have been frozen a long time ago.

Because fear the walking dead sucked and that was half a season on a yacht.

1. Fuel
2. Marine navigation isn't a matter of just "go north"

one thing that has bothered me about the move to the D.C. Area is they are smack dab in the middle of a hugely populated area. Alexandria and environs was full of people and now presumably zombies
I get the walled enclosure with nice houses and electricity/water but it's not safe and it never will be. Correct ZA procedure would be to get away from populated areas

being that they are supposedly in Virginia, it would be interesting to see a winter on the show.
The comic brings in the snow. Too much money for TV I suppose. With the way the show is written, they'd have to do an entire season with snow moving in and out.
What they could do is base one of their flashback episodes in winter. But they tend to spend all of their money on zombie makeup.

It's rained twice in the few years this has been happening.
Once was conveniently in season 1 right as Rick and Glen were wearing the guts camo and it washed it off. The 2nd was when a random tornado was produced.
I feel like the South has more rain and severe weather than that. But now since they are in north virginia, that place is known to get a couple feet of snow at times.

I wouldn't have went east coast. I would have went boring..probably north west Colorado. As far as the lower 48 goes. Use mountain terrain. Chances are there is still food to hunt and natural resources in the area. Winter would be a bitch.
But the people who say things like islands in the Atlantic or Florida everglades, etc. You set up and 1 major hurricane later, you're fricked. Can't predict them coming now or the size.

i would of been ok with the entire series ending when they made it to Alexandria tbh
pull up, rick hears the kids playing, gate opens, happy community.. the end.

Lol, that's not Robert Kirkman's style at all. His would have been Rick hearing kids, gates open, zombies overtake and kill them all, end of show.

Their filming schedule is May-November in the deep south so there will never be a winter background.

They'll split up into teams and spend a season walking through the woods looking for a boat.

thats another thing
where are all these woods?
they are in ALEXANDRIA VIRGINIA...there are no woods.
they wouldnt be able to walk a half mile without hitting a subdivision or a strip mall. theres a few parks and whatnot but otherwise...ticky tacky

I seem to remember it being discussed in the show that the D.C. area was evacuated and that's why there aren't a lot of zombies around.
