all of the children save Charlie were outlandish charicatures of bad behaved kids and their enabling parents. the over eater, too much TV, spoiled Brat, and the annoying overachiever.

They're carcatures to be sure, but I have met people who make me believe in these carcatures. I've met people like Varuka in the remake, but holy shite in the original she is far more ridiculous than Wonka and the Oompa Loompas themselves, which is a hell of an achievement.

It's been said already but far and away the person I hate most in Harry Potter is not Voldy, but Dolores Umbridge. 100%, grade A bitch right there.

The thing is everyone has met someone like Dolores Umbridge. I had a teacher I loathed who was like 5'2, had a high pitch voice, said the most terrible things in the sweetest voice possible, and was fat and ugly as shite. When I read the novels, that is who I imagine when reading them. It made me hate her even more and made me wish she was raped and killed by centaurs.

God, my favorite part of that miniseries so far was when her mother slapped her across her arrogant little pie hole, and she's just a junior high aged bee-yatch right now. I can't imagine how awful she's gonna get in the next few installments when she grows up... She's SO awful, it's almost hard to watch...

THIS. I found Sharon Stone irritating and annoying from the start but this character pushed me over the top. Her character is so annoying and unlikable in Casino that she kinda ruins an otherwise solid movie.
