I think people exaggerate how bad the first season is outside of the pilot, but it is certainly a couple notches below the rest of the show

Possibly unpopular opinion:
April is my least favorite character, is a total bitch, her look at me I'm cyincal and say wacky things schtick sucks and isn't funny, and she pretty much ruins every scene she is in

Mark was the straight man. You need that in a cast of weird personalities.
Season 1 is actually good but only after you learn to like the show. I hated season 1 and skipped watching season 2. Folks on here got me to get back into the show for season 3 which I like so I went back and watched season 1 and 2.
Leslie is a bit more goofy in season 1, then they made her actually competent after season 1.
We all know the greatest character.
They used Jean Ralphio perfectly. Any more would be too much, any less would be not enough.

Do people forget season 1 was only 6 episodes? They were finding their groove.

The last season was unbearable. I liked season 1 and part of season 2 the best.

Ron and Tom were by far my favorite two characters. Craig was damn good too. "Go Boilermakers!!!!!"

The Lil Sebastian Memorial was a complete waste of tax payer funding and that funding could have been better served fixing something in Councilman Jams' district.

I did not particularly like Rob Lowe's character on Parks and Recreation. I felt he was unnecessary and uninteresting.
I did not care for Mark, either.
