The Patriot is a crap movie. You can enjoy it, and that's fine. I enjoy some crap movies too. But it is undeniably crap and cartoonishly over the top.

The Patriot (although I hate it) can be enjoyed if you view it in the same vein as a Death Wish movie or something like that - unintentional, hilariously over the top action scenes. The sad thing is there are posters here who view it as a successful period piece drama like Braveheart which it fails miserably in trying to emulate.

To each his own. I thought it was excellent. Nearly as good as Tree of Life.
