-Nominated for Multiple Academy Awards-

This Oscar nominated movie is a classic.

Any other opinions on it?

My favorite part is when they are at the drive-in theater watching The Shining and as soon as Jack Nicholson breaks down the door with the axe a tornado busts through the screen.

It was a technical award.

Nothing heavy. Don't be deceived.

The Phantom Menace was nominated for Oscars too.

When this movie came out I thought it was pretty cool because I've always been fascinated by tornadoes. But I watched it the other day with my daughter and when I started thinking about the "evil scientists" trying to get the data before they did I just started laughing. What a ridiculous plot line. They could have totally left that out and it wouldn't have missed a beat.

Even the ride it's based off of at Universal Studios sucks

I loved it even though the last tornado scene was very unrealistic.

My favorite part is when the Case IH dealarship is getting destroyed, and combines and tractors are landing in the middle of the road.

I did not get how or why the other team was evil, also Helen Hunt Bill Paxon love story was boring.

As I recall this movie came out a few weeks before Independence Day, so it became old news within a month.

Gotta give some love to Alan Ruck and Cary Elwes, two of my all time favorite character actors who were also in the film.

The attraction they have at Universal has some phenomenally bad, yet unintentionally funny, acting in the introductory video by Bill Paxton

It was okay then, and it is still okay. I never thought it was a great film.

I'm very good at suspending belief and letting things slide in movies but damn this movie was stupid.

Can you do a Bill Paxton vs thread. I'm not sure who he matches up with though. I wasn't aware of his awesome resume, until I recently saw him on late night. At least imo, Bill doesn't stand out as a major movie star, but his resume begs to differ. Maybe, he is just a great support character.

Remember seeing it the theaters. Good movie with special effects. Will there be a movie about a hurricane? I like Jami Gertz

It literally had the same exact plot as the Little Rascals, right up to the rich kids not listening to the warnings of the good guys leading to an accident of their high tech vehicle.
