Damn they have ruined this show. New writers and this season is weird. On Episode 3. Two major problems.

1. Frank was fun to watch like it was watching JR. People were watching HOC to see what dirty trick Frank would pull every week. Just as they watched JR. They took that feature out. Show isn't as fun to watch.

They are following the headlines too much. Just write a decent plot and quit trying to use it to make a point about today's politics. It's almost as if they are trying too hard.

2. Yeesh. We are STILL on this stupid election. Three seasons now for ONE damn election. MOVE ON!!!!!

I made it about half way through the season and bailed.

Sucks because seasons 1 & 2 were epic

THIS POST SPOILS THE ENTIRE SERIES TO DATE

Season's 4/5 were kind of a chore to get through, but it really wasn't that difficult.

Frank became President too early in the series. He also resigned too early. If not for Trump having Uday, Qusay, Ivanka, and Jared as his top advisers, I would have guffawed at the thought of Claire becoming Veep, and then assuming the Presidency.

I'm not sure where this show can go now. I think Claire will be a disaster. Frank may end up killing her.

It's a terrible season and they've taken the plot and characters in a direction that I don't think can be salvaged.

SPOILERS:

Frank resigns and Claire becomes President and Frank claims this was his grand plan all along. He wants to move away from political office and into corporate/lobbyist control of things. It's total bullshite and contradicts everything in the earlier seasons.

The show should have ended after season 2, or it should have ended with the downfall in season 3. Too late now.

Finish the season if you want, but I am done after this season. It just went to crap in Season 5.

I am having the same issue with Veep with this last season as well.

Not if you just ignore everyone but Jonah.

Not only that, but a significant portion of screen time was dedicated to following completely uninteresting side characters who they mostly just killed off anyways.

Claire's ascension was ridiculous and unjustifiable on every level. No part of it made any sense, and by the time the election rolled around, the only believable outcome was the Underwood's losing the election in a landslide.

It should have been 3 seasons. The assholes got greedy and ruined what could have been one of the greatest shows of all time if they kept it to a trilogy. Instead we get Frank floundering at the top and it being totally ridiculous with shite like

Spoilers although you don't have any context to this

"Help, help! The Secretary has fallen!"

Which might be the single dumbest scene in television history.

The jump the shark moment as far as I'm concerned. The idea itself was bad enough but then they barely brought it up after.

Made even worse by the fact that the scene was supposed to make Frank seem ruthless, but it just made him look incompetent.

I'd say Claire calling out Putin about the piece of shite gay dude who kills himself for all the world to see was the jumping the shark moment.

Hell or maybe it was before that when Claire became the Ambassador to the UN. That was utterly ridiculous as well.

It's been bad for a while now, but I couldn't even finish this season. the show is laugh out loud bad.

The show should have had a 3 season run, with the downfall of the underwoods in season 3. It's just dumb at this point.
