Well, "Billy", if Woody was in a second season, the theories of him being the killer would take a small hit because he'd pretty much be in jail or on the run. But 2 others have stated it ends with season 1 and there will be new characters if a season 2 is coming, which I'd have to figure it would be on tap with the ratings of this initial season.

And that's your WTF it has to do with it.

Season 2 is going to be a new story and they are kicking around the idea of using females detectives.

Thanks all, good info, glad it ends in 2 episodes, couldn't handle the wait.

They'll have to do a lot to top this one and it will also be hard to find two bigger stars for season 2, male or female.

No way they top it, ratings are absurd. MM is all the talk with Oscars and all. It was a perfect storm. I am sure they will take a slight drop-off in ratings.

Found a good up to date read from Rolling Stone with no spoilers that links what y'all are saying and also gives insight into the creator.

quote:

True Detective was conceived as an anthology show, each season telling a discrete story with a different locale and group of characters. For the first season, Pizzolatto set his tale in a place he knows well: the swampy, oil-refinery-studded coast of Louisiana, where he grew up in a deeply Catholic family, obsessed with comic books and The Twilight Zone...

Pizzolatto has started to dig in to Season Two, which, once again, he's tackling by himself. "I've got three characters I love right now, and they're all unique, and neither of them is Cohle or Hart," he says. But is there any worry that he can't maintain the near-kitchen-sink insanity of Season One? "That's the least of my concerns," Pizzolatto says. "I actually feel more free. Now I can really start to bend things."

Near kitchen sink insanity?

What does that even mean?

They'll poll the idea to see if you are right. Females have been upset by Maggie having a meh role thus far and the overall depiction and objectification of women in the series.

Well if they stayed their asses in the kitchen then they couldn't watch the show and thus be disappointed. I mean shite, Maggie brought Marty some spaghetti. If anything, she's the ideal woman.

Yeah, not that Marty didn't deserve it but she kinda grudge fukked his partner. I still think the verdict is out on Maggie. She may have a bigger role than we realize in the next two episodes.

I think we all agree that this guy is involved:

Oh, and I also think its pretty obvious who the green-eared spaghetti monster REALLY is...

*Not my original idea, btw!*
