They're just happy people are talking about it. Look at this new Tarzan movie for example. No one's talking about that. Its gonna bomb.

Hard to believe a movie that was over 10 years in development and cost $180 million to make wouldn't be a masterpiece.

That first trailer wasn't funny.

The second trailer had a chuckle, but it wasn't Lolmageddon, which is the biggest indicator of being an actual funny movie.

The original Ghostbusters wasn't a comedy. It was a sci-fi romp with a little horror and funny bits.

If you give the customers what they want = $$$.

If you ignore their needs and wants= cant make $$$ from pissed off customers.

I thought they teach you this in business school.

I suspect the people who turned out for 50 Shades of Grey will show up for this movie, and then it will drop 80% on its second weekend. Somehow, someway, 50 Shades made $571M at the worldwide box office. I don't understand how or why, but it did. So I wouldn't be surprised to see Ghostbusters make a profit for the studio.

Not true at all. It seems at least once a month there is a financial flop.

This is absolutely not true in the movie industry.

we are talking about the masses here. They just want special effects, some explosion, humor there and there, and a peachy ending. But make it believable in the setting that it''s created. The story has to be believable. 4 women killing ghosts is not believable. It's like having a female crew at Indy 500.

It will be "the #1 Comedy in America" for the first week. Then it will tank.

Hopefully, Tarzan will be good. Burroughs' material deserves cinematic success.

Shades of Grey had a loyal following of millions of sex starved women. Ghostbusters fans tend to be 40-50 year old white dudes who will probably not turn out to see this SJW experiment.

What? It is most certainly a comedy. It was subtle as all hell a lot of the time, but it is a funny movie.

I have a feeling this movie will contain zero subtlety and will miss the mark by a wide margin.

Here's what I think will happen, as well as what I hope happens: the movie will come out and while it won't be a flop, it will disappoint. There will be some moderate talk of making another one, but the majority of the actresses in it will balk because they know it was a shitty idea in the first place. Then it will end up as some standalone joke and 20 years from now, people will only barely acknowledge it if at all. It will always be historically known as a huge, stupid mistake. Just like the Total Recall and Robocop reboots.
