I have been a fan of the reboot of the games (Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raider) and really liked the story from the first one.
The plot is said to be a merge of the first 2 games, but I hope it pulls mainly from the first. Father Mathias is in it, so we should get some Yamatai.
I thought they would possibly go with the game actress Camilla Luddington
However I think they nailed it with Alicia Vikander
Going to be good.

Only if it's R-rated. Vikander's Lara Croft needs to kill people with a climbing axe like in the game.

If it is true to the roots of the first game, I do not know how they keep it PG. Not to give away spoilers, but there are a lot of dead bodies in that game and many die in gruesome ways.
Of course they will shoot for PG13.

Yup, I thought the pictures from her on set would make that obvious, guess not
Being a dork and following the game development I was rooting for Camilla, however Alicia looks very good. The great part of the reboot was how innocent and gritty they made Lara. She was not a refined British women in the reboot games. Camilla compared to Alicia has that too refined look, Alicia looks more the Lara from the game IMO now.

While I would have liked to see Camilla in the role... I don't know if she could have pulled it off as well as Alicia will. Camilla is one of the best voice actors in the last 10 years, but Alicia definitely has better acting chops behind her.
either way I'm super excited, and hope to see more of Alicia and Camilla in the future
