I know this is a popular show here and rightfully so. And its always been a slow burn type. But is this season just spectacularly uneventful or is it just me???

I mean there is nothing going on. The one substantial mission they had turned out to be a tree hugger trying to help them....

Im a fan of the show but this season has been the worst so far.

Agree. To me it's been a very uneventful season; that being said I'm there every week.

I thought one of the best scenes of this entire show was when they developed Paiges pictures and looked over them with her. The music helped too.

Paige has officially turned to the spy side as of this episode. That's a huge deal.

Them officially getting married in the same episode that they find out that their assignment with the two grain people is getting extended has implications too. Elizabeth is going to fall for her guy big time.

I do understand somewhat why you'd feel the way you do but they're definitely laying some groundwork now that's really going to pay off over the last season and a half.

It's been very uneventful but I think that is because they have an ending next year and they are just going to slowly build it up. Hopefully it's a great payoff

Yes, but at the expense of an entire season? I mean dont get me wrong, I still plan on watching....but it just seems like after every episode I've been saying to myself.." ok, nothing really happened..."

Started watching last year - binged a few seasons then caught up. Really liked it, but this season is S L O W. If I hadn't invested a few seasons into it, I'd have given up on this season. Far too much on the stuff going on in Russia, and not much at all going on in the U.S. Hard to watch at this point.

And you act like a teenage girl when you gain a few pounds.

We all have our hangups.

I agree that I hope there is more active story development as we get through this season.

I'm just saying that the subtle stuff, which we all agree Americans does well, has been there this season.

First few episodes were really good. Now its gotten slow, and there are too many story lines.

the editing and writing is definitely not up to last season.

That scene was great. So savage.

But I do agree that this season has been pretty slow. Still good, just not peak Americans. It seems to be setting up the final season more than anything else. Two other FX shows, Justified and The Shield, were similar in that their penultimate season was mostly used to set up the final season. And both those shows knocked the final season out the park. I imagine The Americans will as well.

I believe the word is "monstrous". I think they all realize it, too, but feel powerless to stop.

I was liking the scene and the music went great with it, plus it seemed familiar. Took a second to realize it was Bauhaus.

I have to say though there's been a couple too many "set up" episodes this season but I still love the show and the acting and writing are so damn good.

I agree that this has been a very slow burn season.

I disagree that this had been a bad season.

We all know we are coming to A conclusion next season, and some of this is clearly a buildup to that, but the tension is being ratcheted up like crazy, and I am enjoying the he'll out of it.

Some of the best episodes in this series have been this season.
