How much does the soundtrack for TWBB contribute to the overall greatness of the movie?

It is playing on HDNM and I have it on in the background. There are so many reasons for why I appreciate this movie so much with the soundtrack being one of them.

One example is the oil well blowout and the ensuing fire. The soundtrack really adds to everything that makes the scene a signature one foe the movie.
-It shows how Daniel is so driven for success that even when his closest family member is hurt it is secondary to his oil ambitions. He can only marvel at his well on fire consuming everything while saying that H.W will not be OK as a small detail.
-The music score is outstanding in this scene, very different but really heightens the tension of what is happening.
-The cinematography is also great, love the shot of Daniel standing and watching the derrick burn in the dark.

He really nailed that movie in every aspect. It's hard to rank what the best quality of that movie is. You could go with cinematography, soundtrack, or acting performance. I think my vote goes to cinematography. There are some great shots in that movie. I like the one where he is standing in the field in the morning fog.

Not as good as the soundtrack for Gladiator or Man on Fire.

Greenwood's stark arrangements really complimented the barren features of the land and empty heart of Plainview. I loved the twisting, buzzing violins during the film's opening, and the piece during Daniel & his "brother's" surveying odyssey was amazing.
