The Wire Season 3 Episode 5 (spoilers)

So I just finished this episode and I have a question. I have heard IRL BPD told the wire to change some material because it was too close to what they do. Were they talking about how they moved the dealers to an empty project and allowed them to sell?

I believe the idea was actually discussed but never passed.

That's pretty interesting. The show kicks arse

I would have to go back and verify but I think Colvin's LT was real life BPD and worked with Simon.

I think they were referring to certain ways to get around the wire taps.

I just finished the series and liked it all the way through. Worth the time to watch it.

Yes, that is who the show Jay Landsman is based off of, as well as John Munch from Homicide and Law and Order. Landsman was a shift sergeant in the Homicide Department of the BPD when Simon spent his time with them back in 88'. Needless to say Landsman was one of the hardest working detectives for that department. Unlike The Wire's Landsman he actually cared for his detectives and spent a lot of time working as a secondary when he wasn't trying to help his lieutenants keep the rest of the brass from breathing down the department's neck.

I finished season 4 in one day, it was that good. I'll put it up there with the last season of Breaking Bad. I just started the fifth season, kind of bummed its the last but also relieved since I will be able to read online about the show without getting a major spoiler (especially Youtube when the spoiler is in the title!)
