I think we saw Tyrese in this episode in Woodbury. Black guy that walked away from the wall looked like the actor who was cast in that role.

That was a really good episode. I have been as critical about this show as everyone else but I thoroughly enjoyed the last one.

They have setup the fight btw Rick and the Governor as well as I could have hoped.

How is the mid-season finale going to end? I would think Rick captures the Governor or something to that extent.

If you are talking about who I think you are talking about that was Travis Love who plays Shupert:

That wasn't Tyreese.

BTW I suspect Woodbury keeps Andrea for a little while before she joins Team Prison.

Question:

What is the reasoning behind the gov wanting to take out the people of the prison?

I feel like if they just all came together, they'd run shite.

I know we're following the comics here (to some extent), but I'm having trouble figuring out what his reasoning is?

It can't just be because they left Merle to die. He doesn't really give a frick about Merle.

Because the prison is prime real estate now that Rick and co cleaned of out. In the show he acts shocked that they actually got it cleaned

In the book, I want to say the gov didnt know about the prison until they mentioned it to him

I can't really post this in the regular thread. I said a while back there was a guy in Woodbury who looked like tyrese. At the end of this weeks episode there is a shot of Rick's crew outside the walls and then a shot of the guys guarding it. Again they show the guy that I think is tyrese. Someone in the regular thread even mentions the he looks familiar "like an NFL linebacker".

Took some self control not to mention my theory in there. I would think he'd be introduced this week.

According to my source, that was not Tyrese. But Rick and them will run into him on their way back to the prison at the end of this weeks episode.

I have never read the comics so can someone explain who Tyrese is and his role?

He is just a side character that the gang meets while at the prison. He is in a good portion of the comics and kind of becomes Rick's right hand man (no pun intended).

Correct I believe. I always thought it was weird that they had this badass fortified town that they had spent months building yet when they find out about the prison, they drop everything to try and obtain that. The prison is definitely a better bet but Woodbury was pretty damn nice.

read the comics. you heard wrong.

and the show diverges a lot. which i like not always knowing what's going to happen. will be really surprised to see everyone survive this next one though.

poor U-dawg doesn't stand a chance.

Pretty sure they didn't met Tyrese in prison. He had his daughter and daughter's bf with him.

Tyrese is basically the comic version of Daryl (who wasn't in the comics)

yeah he joined earlier. I don't think he became important until the prison.

How far along generally plot-wise is the show compared to the comics? I have never read them and my wife is getting them for me for Christmas.
