There's a close resemblance between these two!

For me, the tea was a sign of civility that Andrea hasn't experienced in a long time. It helped her overcome her initial fears and settle in to the possibility that she was in a safe place. The governor has his eyes set on her and will do what it takes to have her buy into the community.

The governors heads are such an odd fetish that was thrown our way. It's a locked room with a key he carries around his neck, it has its own power supply so that it didn't need to be wired from the outside, further masking its seclusion. He goes in there with a drink in hand to sit and stare while sitting in his favorite chair. His family is dead, he's got a broad in his bed and he doesn't let his name be known. He's a classic sociopath.

Agreed. At first I thought it was the teacher chick who greeted Andrea/Michonne and showed them around a bit. But I wasn't sure if it was her or not.

And FWIW, I do believe that Gov has his sights set on Andrea and that will come into play. I also think Andrea will fall into his charm (read: bullshite), because she's an idiot, and Michonne will have to "rescue" her from Gov/the community.

I just hope things don't drag on too long in two separate places (the prison and Woodbury)...I hope these two plotlines merge soon.

They'll probably dovetail in episode 7 or 8, to build a cliffhanger for the midseason break. Next episode will end the first quarter of the season, and the first half of what's being shown in '12. The rest of the season will come in Spring '13.

like how they took so much time in season 2 to turn her into shane jr and them she's immediately a stupid and open-hearted chick in season 3

see i really thought they portrayed her as someone easily swayed. she's taken turns siding with, and then breaking away from lori, rick, dale, shane, darryl, etc.

plus i dunno, she was sick and they made her better. she wants to believe a place like woodbury is perfect i would think.

Some Omar/Chalky on this show would be badass.

SIAP but am I the only one who thought the gov was looking at his zombified family at the end, before they showed that it was just heads?

I thought so for sure too, especially since he looked at his family right before going in there. Then I started to think, oh that must be where they're going with this. This little "safe" town has a dark secret. I figured his zombie family would get out and destroy the town.

But alas, all for naught.

Though it seems the preseason promo was from these first three episodes only. They cut it like the line "We are going out there to take back whats ours" and probably the "if I ever see you around this prison Ill kill you line" to make it sound like the Governor and Rick were referring to each other when in reality its going to be a long while before the two stories even collude.

And regards to the Grimes family anyone noticed how estranged they seem now? For instance go back and watch Seed. When they are moving from House to House, Rick and Carl are riding in a four door Dodge big enough to hold Lori but she is in a totally different vehicle (the suburban) with T Dog and Carol. Then Lori ends up staying with Carol in a cell.

All I could think when the townsmen ambushed the NG soldiers was "weekend warriors".

What else could explain their lack of a perimeter, their unpreparedness (at a time like that, who wouldn't be locked/loaded and ready to shoot at anything) and their inaction once the attack began.

It didn't make any sense that a group of people who had survived that long would allow themselves to be taken down that easily.

Yes especially if you rewatch Seed. Carl and Rick are in the four door Dodge by themselves while Lori is in the Suburban with Carol and T Dog driving (the Greenes/Glenn in the green SUV and Daryl on the motorcycle)

What stood out to me about the Governor is that he has moved past survival mode and has gone on to rebuilding.

I foresee an epic fall for him though. If he was able to totally rebuild it would almost kill the story\series. At some point that makes sense just seems to early for that just yet.

Yeah, I'm not sure either way. But you can bet when the ZA comes, the emerging Alpha Dogs will pull SERIOUS tail . I can't wait.

Regarding the "Grimes family is not very tight" thing. Do you really not know why??? Lori's a hateful count who talked her husband and frickbuddy into a fight to the death, then got pissed at the winner.

I say Woodbury falls in the last episode before the break and Rick and the Governor spend the 2nd half engaging in guerrilla warfare on eachother.

I think so, too. I just think the perspective is interesting, and something we haven't seen yet. Hershel was in denial that the world had gone to shite, and Rick is in full on Bear Grylls survival mode, but the Governor at least seems to think that it isn't the end of the world.

Also:
quote:

Raiding doesn't mean it disappears. If there really are as few people not turned as Rick and them believe then there should be guns lying everywhere.

The issue isn't guns, but ammo. Rick and co. seem to be adequately armed. Everyone in the group has a gun, and I'm sure they have a few extras. Sure, there are going to be more lying around, but what real good are they? You're just going to slow yourself down if you try to keep every .38 snub that you come across.

And yes, maybe they could go live at a Walmart, but hearing everyone bitch about the farm being boring was bad enough.
