I'm certainly not arguing against any of the points you made! I agree.

I watched. Asian nerd boy was good. Liked his voice. All the teams were filled and battle rounds began, thank goodness. Steals even began. I was so ready for the blinds to end.

Blake took a screamer in the end. I couldn't decide what I thought about her. She had one of the accents going with her words.

Big complaint I have with the show is the judges rave about evey auditioner, trying to woo them.
"You're the best ever!!!"
"I have to make you the centerpiece of my team"
"I will win with you"

Instead of telling them the truth:

"You're gonna wind up as 1 of 12, that I will pair up with a similar voice and more than likely I'll be voting you out, even before the live shows."

I've watched every show since it began but the judges are starting to wear on me....same crap every time. Blake makes a half arse effort to get non country singers and gets bitch slapped almost every time (even though he's won this thing twice with people who couldn't be further from country singers). Adam acts like a used car salesman. Christina is always looking for a chance to take the stage herself. The black judges (Cee Lo Green, Usher and now Pharrell Williams) are usually pretty straight forward and use their success as producers to their advantage, which is smart, but they always pick dumb arse songs.

In the end, Adam will have one or more in the finals because "they earned the right to be there and have worked their butts off" (the truth is he begs like a crack addict looking for a fix for votes). Christina will be able to concentrate on her hair do early into the process because all of her folks will be gone within the first few weeks. Pharrell will pick songs for the contestants that even the writers' family never heard of and they'll fall like rocks. And Blake will rely on his popularity in the country music world to pull the wagon for one of his team members.

I thought about you. She's not as bad with that as some, but it was there.

Christina was in her element last night.

I wish they'd show what the mentor said when he begged the contestant to join his or her team before each battle round, so we'd be reminded that they told the person they're booting that they could win.

Anyone watch?

Battle rounds are a good change from the blinds.

They were okay. Some good, some not memorable. Gimme Shelter was probably the best even though Hannah slid into her accent sometimes. That ruins her for me. It kept my attention. Blake did a good job on that one. Great song choice for this battle. I agreed with him keeping Sarah, though I think Hannah is going to be around, too. Lots of steals early on. Pharrell got Hannah. I think Blake is out of steals already. Don't they just get two?

Anthony v Travis(Lafayette guy)(Pharrell)-the song was clearly better for Anthony, but as they said Travis put up a good fight and Blake stole him, so he's still around.

Ameera v Sonic-(Xtina)-Sonic is the one with hearing loss on one side and was worried about the duet and harmony because the band was loud on her good side. She ended up being the best of the two by a good bit. Goodbye to Ameera.

There were three battles with only some clips. I don't even remember who they were. I hate when they do that.

Blaze v Michael-(Adam)- I didn't care who won this. I thought the song choice was crappy and the performance was lackluster. I finished drying my hair during the last part of it because I was bored. Sometimes, I just have to wonder what Adam is thinking. Blaze won, but I wouldn't call it a win. Geez, it was boring.

Cody v Matt-(Blake)-Battle of the country singers. I don't even remember Matt. We may not have seen him. Cody won, but neither was great. The performance wasn't great either way. It was missing wow moments. Pretty low key for me.

Paul v Meghan-(Pharrell)- Meghan clearly won this, but Pharrell kept Paul which was a mindblower. She was great, I thought. She's the one who was friends with Blake, but he didn't turn for her in the blinds. The other three judges wanted to steal her. She went with Blake. Duh.

This show is losing me fast, I have to admit. I find myself dreading having to devote my time to it twice+ a week. I will try to catch up on the last two episodes at some point though.

I can't watch it live. That's way too much time. I'm looking forward to the reduced time of the shows. 4 hours a week is way too much for me.

I'm enjoying Idol a lot more this year. Right now, it's been 3 hours a week, I believe, but that will change soon because they are reducing the singers by 4 last week and 4 again, this week, I believe. It passes faster, though. Not as much fluff right now and the judges are limited and swift with comments, so it's mostly singing. 8 singers both nights in 90 minutes last week. When they get to the top 12, it should be one night a week. That may be next week. I know you hate Idol, but it's been so much better this season.

I never watch it live. But even FFWDing through two two-hour episodes a week is such a chore. It's getting to the point where I don't even want to hear the coaches go back and forth trying to sway contestants anymore because they get on my nerves. And if I'm only watching for the actual singing, then there's almost no point in me watching the show at all.

I haven't given up on it yet though.

Tonight's episode. Sawyer and that girl (Noelle/Joelle?) killed it! I was bummed nobody could steal her, but a lot of people's voices probably sound good with Sawyer. He is absolutely the frontrunner. India and the country kid with long hair and moustache that Blake has are probably my three favorites.

I love Sawyer. I liked Jason. Glad he was saved. Rob from Donaldsonville was good. I've already forgotten last night!

I hated the version of Animal that Christine's team did last night. I don't know if she's a good coach. Blake seems to give better tips and pointers.

Sawyer and that girl should honestly record that version and release it as a single. I think it would skyrocket up the charts

I didn't care for it, either. I liked the singers, but not the way she played it out. I've always questioned her talents as a coach overall.

Damn, I've checked the board and haven't seen an "in game" thread in awhile. Everyone must be recording. I watch while cooking dinner or doing other stuff so Im not locked in to the point of annoyance.

By the way, for some reason I don't find Christina quite as annoying as I used to. Not sure why. Maybe she's matured a litlle.

So far, Christina has been reserved in her comments. She does still make things about her from time to time, but otherwise, she's sort of a non entity at this point. That's fine with me.
