Solid start to the show. This show is on a short leash with me but that was a great start.

Amazing how different that country dude sounded this year from last year.

That last chick was good but Jesus she needs to stop screaming. She's obviously a great, talented singer but hopefully someone reigns her in a little bit. I'd like to year her song some soulful slow song. I bet she'd kill that.

Lots of awesome "Carson is a giant toolbag" moments but I decided to wait on pictures. Y'all are welcome.

So does anyone else think it's bullshite that Grimmie gets to be on the show?

For those unaware, she's a YouTube star by trait, with 2.5 million subscribers where she started by doing covers.

Her manager is Selena Gomez's stepdad, she has already put out 2 albums, one peaking at #35 on billboard chart the other at 101. She won an American Music Award in 2011 in which she also performed. She's toured and opened for Selena Gomez, Jonas Brothers, and Justin Bieber. And she was signed in July 2012 to Creative Artists Agency who have signed Chris Brown and Christina Aguilera.

Cassadee Pope who won Season 3 was in a pop punk band before she went solo that was quite popular.

But being in a band and then starting a solo career is different enough to be okay.

Christina Grimmie has always been solo and already signed to a major label among everything else I listed, just kind of bullshite she even gets to be on the show.

Her last album which came out in August 2013, has 1,500 reviews on iTunes and averages 5/5 stars. The music video for her lead single off of it debuted on Billboard.com.

She's not changing anything either, she's already achieved success and just wants more success with the show, which isn't what the show is about. She'll easily make it to the voting stage where her mass amount of fans will carry her through far, possibly to the end, which is again, bullshite and unfair.

Yeah that's bullshite. It's not even like someone like Cassadee Pope or Javier Colon who had tried but never really "made it." (despite being signed previously).

If this chick is already signed to a pretty big label and even currently has an album on the charts (and I feel like #35 isn't something to sneeze at either), then she shouldn't really be on a show like this.

She picked Adam too, right? Hopefully he realizes all of this and makes sure she doesn't get to live voting, because if she has that many followers/fans on youtube, then she should wreck shop when the voting starts. That's bullshite. I hope he takes other contestants into mind with all of this instead of just thinking "Well this chick is a guaranteed win" (which I think Ursher and Shakira [or CeeLo/Christina] would be more likely to do since they've never won).
