you really are the least knowledgeable individual I've ever seen on here

if they decided to release it anyway, reverse course...americans would flood the theaters to see this...it's only made the movie more appealing to the public

From what I've seen, it's more of a reflection on studios not wanting to be involved in controversy

What is a "controversy" other than a reflection of their customers' wants and desires?

I'm guessing Obama is about to board Air Force One and accept his terms of surrender to Kim Jong Un and now we'll have a true glorious leader. What a bunch of fricking pussies. This is the most embarrassing 24 hours of American History in the past decade. Way to wave up the white flags to protect liberty, you pussies.

So our government is responsible for the banned screenings?

ETA: I am asking, FWIW. I'm not trying to be a smartass.

Interesting theory from a guy clearly thumbing the Russians' eyes with this Cuba thing.

People trying to blame this on the government(Obama), hollywood talent(directors/actors/etc) or the American public is just wrong. Liberal or conservative every single one of the above mentioned group I've seen thinks this is cowardly and bullshite.

The people behind this is fricking studio execs and corporate America who are in bed with god knows who, literally and figuratively, and are terrified of losing their money and power which they most likely sold their souls to get

I don't understand how Obama has not had a presser stating that

"Anything so much as an unnatural wind directions in or around any theater showing 'The Interview' will cause a wrath of fire and fury to be reigned down on N. Korea the likes of which this world has never seen."

The government is not responsible. But, I'd have to believe that the hacks and blowback warrants a threat from the POTUS about any future attempts at anything out of the ordinary.

Where do you draw the line?

N. Korea: "We will bomb voting booths in America if citiznes try to vote for elected officials"

USA: "No voting this year, due to threats of violence. Have to look out for our well being and all"

Can we tell studios that they HAVE to show a movie?

USA: "You show this movie or we'll kick your arse out of the country!"

Exactly. Even though we do look like pussies, I think it would be bad form for the government to stick their nose in the matter of private companies. That's never stopped them before, doe.

No, but we can support them by addressing the nation/world on TV making aspeech about how the threats of violence from N. Korea will not stand.

"Our studios will do as they please, with the full faith and comfort that the complete power of the US military will be leveraged against N. Korea should a kid in a theater showing The Interview so much as develop a hangnail."

Instead: crickets

I don't disagree with that at all. Has N Korea said "If this movie get's shown, we will go to war with the US"? Again, I am asking honestly. I'm not sure about the full history of this incident.

They threatened to attack showings of the movie, and even mentioned 9/11. As if we should take notice.

The only way that the government should be involved is that there is an international crime being committed against the movie studio.

Most of this is on the studios being corrupt/pussies though.

True, but maybe if they had the biggest kid on the block standing behind them instead of nowhere in sight they may be more inclined to bunch the little shite in his face.

The hackers did. I have seen and have posted that we are investigating whether or not the N Korea is behind the hacks and are just hiding behind this terrorist organization.. If we can prove it, then expect some word soon. We have to prove it, though.

Ok, then threaten any organization who tries to levy threats against our citizens. Make it a blanket ultimatum.

I thought it was pretty well accepted fact that N. Korea was responsible. I mean what other terror group would even give 2 shits about this movie. It doesn't depict an assassination of Muhamed.

frick, Al Quada and ISIS and what not never threatened to blow up theaters for showing ZD3 and such
